Proposed Cooking Instructions
Option 1: Panfry (Highly Recommended)
- Set aside approx. 2 teaspoons of water per each dumpling to be cooked, mix half a teaspoon of starch in water.
- Lightly oil fry pan and place on medium-high heat
- Place dumplings in frypan, fry them till light brown
- Mix water with starch, add to the frypan and close the lid immediately. Be careful with splatter.
- Cook for 7 min with lid closed on low heat
- Remove lid, if any water is left on frypan, continue cooking until water has evaporated
- Turn of heat. Dumplings should be easy to remove and have a crispy base.
- Enjoy with your favourite dipping sauce. Traditionally it is a mix of soy sauce, vinegar and chilly oil.
Option 2: Steam
- Bring the water to boil.
- Place dumpling on the steamer base brushed with oil (optional to place dumplings on the spinach leaf or a cabbage leaf to prevent from sticking)
- Boil for 7-9 minutes.
- Enjoy with your favourite dipping sauce. Traditionally it is a mix of soy sauce, vinegar and chilly oil.
