Kindred Organics Australian Hulled Buckwheat is a nutritious, naturally wheat-free ingredient that is commonly used as an alternative to rice.
Despite the name, buckwheat is not actually a grain but a fruit seed that is related to rhubarb. Organic buckwheat has a distinctive nutty flavour and can be cooked and served in a similar way to rice.
Buckwheat is rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is a natural source of protein. This buckwheat is grown and packed on the Daman family farm on the northwest coast of Tasmania.
