It's a curcumin supplement, formerly branded as Meriva, that uses a phytosome complex to significantly improve how well the body absorbs curcumin compared to plain curcumin extract.
What does curcumin do?
Curcumin is the primary active antioxidant compound in turmeric. It's associated with supporting a healthy inflammatory response, and it's used for joint, liver, GI, eye, and cardiovascular support.
Why does the phytosome form matter?
Curcumin on its own is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream, whether from food or a typical supplement. Why doesn't Thorne use black pepper extract (piperine) like many other curcumin supplements?
