This dry white is produced in Kakheti region, Georgia. A complex and immensely flavoursome wine made from Rkatsiteli grape variety. This ancient Vinifera originates in Georgia and is one of the oldest grape varieties in the world. Meaning “red stem” in Georgian, it is an elegant wine, well balanced in sweetness and acidity. Aroma of tropical fruits, pear and melon is typical to this variety – Bright and crisp, refreshing and lovely. The taste is smooth with a hint of apple and lime notes.
Rkatsiteli, a white-grape variety, is grown mainly in the Kakheti region and reaches full ripening from mid-September and up to the beginning of October. For the production of top quality wines its yield per hectare should not exceed seven or eight tonnes. In Georgia, Rkatsiteli is used for making both classic (European) and typical Kakhetian, amphora (Kvevri) fermented Vins de Table, Vins de Pays and AOC’s.
